- Q. HOW CAN I OBTAIN A SUBBY'S FRANCHISE?
A. Fill out and submit the Get
Acquainted Form. If you qualify, we can begin the
process leading to your SUBBY'S franchise operation.
- Q. WHAT WILL THE FRANCHISE COST?
A. The initial franchise fee is $15,000 payable when the
franchise agreement is signed. You will also need an
equipment package (subject to change) costing
approximately $50,000 - $60,000. Leasehold improvements
will run approximately $40,000 - $60,000. Additional
funds will be needed for inventory, startup advertising,
insurance, and working capital. Approximately $125,000 -
$150,000 needed.
- Q. DO YOU OFFER A FINANCE PROGRAM?
A. No. You must be capable of securing your own financing
or the needed capital to open a franchise.
- Q. IS THE PRICE FOR THE EQUIPMENT PACKAGE COMPETITIVE?
A. Yes. All equipment has been especially chosen for the
heavy usage to which it will be subjected and, at the
same time, we are concerned about maintaining low prices.
The items of equipment necessary to the operation may be
purchased by the franchisee from any source he desires,
as long as specifications are met.
- Q. HOW LONG DOES MY FRANCHISE LAST?
A. The initial term is 10 years after which you may renew
for an additional 10 year term subject to the then
current franchise terms with additional franchise fee
charged.
- Q. WHAT IS THE CHARGE FOR THE CONTINUING SERVICE AND
ROYALTY FEE?
A. 4% of the gross receipts exclusive of any sales tax.
- Q. AM I GIVEN ANY TERRITORIAL PROTECTION?
A. Yes. We will mutually establish a marketing territory,
adjusted to marketing conditions and population density
within which you have exclusive rights.
- Q. DO I RECEIVE TRAINING FROM SUBBY'S?
A. Yes. Franchisees must attend and successfully complete
a training program at the company facilities. The cost of
this training is Included in initial Franchise Fee.
Franchisees pay their own costs of transportation,
lodging and meals.
- Q. DO I RECEIVE ASSISTANCE IN OPENING MY FRANCHISE
BUSINESS?
A. Yes. In addition to your initial training period an
Operations Specialist will work with you during your
first week.
- Q. WHAT FORM CONTINUAL GUIDANCE WILL I RECEIVE?
A. First of all, you will receive a SUBBY'S OPERATIONAL
MANUAL covering the many Important facets of your
operations. As these manuals are updated, revisions will
be made available to you. Periodically, you will receive
company bulletins containing useful management
information and important happenings. A continuous
advisory service will be available on all promotional,
operational and business problems, as well as field and
technical assistance.
- Q. DO I RECEIVE GUIDANCE ON THE PURCHASE OF FOOD
PRODUCTS?
A. Yes. Our Operations Department researches suppliers
based on their ability to provide products that equal or
exceed our specifications and high quality standards, In
sufficient volume, at the lowest prices and recommends
these sources for your use.
- Q. WHAT ABOUT ADVERTISING?
A. Each SUBBY'S operation contributes to a SUBBY'S
national advertising and promotion program for ad
development only. Each operation also spends 3% of its
gross receipts on a local advertising program which It
manages under the guidance and approval of the home
office.
- Q. CAN I SELL MY SUBBY'S FRANCHISE?
A. Yes. Like any other business, you can sell your
operation to any buyer approved by the home office. There
is a transfer fee for administrative, legal and training
expenses to effect the transfer and if requested, we will
offer your operation for sale, for a fee.
- Q. HOW SOON CAN I BE IN OPERATION ONCE I HAVE BEEN
ACCEPTED AS A FRANCHISEE?
A. Since you need a suitable location prior to coming to
training, we would estimate that you could be In
operation within 4 months of signing the franchise
agreement.
- Q. HOW MUCH CAN I EXPECT TO EARN?
A. Your profit and loss will depend on a number of
factors, such as your area, the amount of time you spend
on the Job, how good a businessman you are, and marketing
conditions. Naturally, as in any business venture, there
is no guarantee as to success and profitability. We help
minimize the risk by giving you the benefit of well
organized system and concept.
- Q. I WOULD LIKE TO STUDY YOUR FRANCHISE AGREEMENT.
WILL YOU SEND ME ONE?
A. Our Franchise Agreement was developed by attorneys and
specialists In franchising and is a valued document which
we do not Indiscriminately distribute. However, once you
have had a personal meeting with our Franchise Director,
we will be happy to provide you with a copy of the
Franchise Agreement and our Disclosure Statement.
- Q. I'M READY TO GO! WHAT DO I DO?
A. First fill out the Get Acquainted Form and submit it
to us. Upon receipt, you will be contacted to set a
personal meeting with our Franchise Director. After we
have an opportunity to meet each other and the necessary
disclosure requirements have been met, a deposit of the
franchise fee and completion of the necessary forms Is
required. Within 3 weeks you will receive final
notification of your acceptance as a franchisee. If you
do not qualify, your depose will be returned in full. If
you are accepted you will be notified and we will begin
assisting you in the development of the franchise.
